Old Dominion Freight Line IT Project Manager (3 days in Thomasville, NC Office) in Thomasville, North Carolina

Responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects according to defined timelines and budgets, manage project teams and provide updates to IT Management as well as ensure quality control throughout the project.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from initiation to close ensuring project success and achieving project objectives

  • Be accountable for project results ensuring the needs of the project and team are met

  • Develop and Manage the Work Breakdown Structure with schedule for Waterfall projects

  • Ensure the completion of all Project deliverables including project documentation per the PMO Guidelines for project delivery

  • Clearly communicate expectations to both stakeholders and team members: Develop and deliver multi-mode communications (verbal and written) that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • Define project requirements and continuously monitor that the solution delivers the agreed upon results.

  • Effectively manage project scope change by ensuring all changes are documented and approved per the PMO Project Change Process

  • Track and report on project milestones, metrics and provide status reports to sponsor and IT Management

  • Lead and motivate project team members on a proactive basis

  • Escalate issues and risks as appropriate according to the Project Management Plan processes

  • Ensures that proper unit, systems integration and user acceptance testing is completed with the required documentation and the appropriate point in the life cycle.

  • Plan and execute a project management process in a way that will ensure compliance to security, privacy and regulatory aspects of all projects. 00

  • Adhere to the architectural principles and policies to the security, privacy and compliance regimes.

  • Manage supplier performance to ensure that suppliers provide their contribution to the project according to contractual agreements and within the agreed budget and schedule.

  • Schedule the work within the time, budget and quality constraints and document assumptions and risks.

  • Monitor and control critical project dependencies preventing these dependencies to become issues for the overall project.

    Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent education and work experience

Experience:

  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • Technical knowledge of IT operations and infrastructure

  • Problem solving ability and proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work as a team player

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

    Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Agile, Kanban, and DevOps

  • PMI Certification

  • Experience with MS Project
